Let Them Sleep
We sing,
But our voices drown
From rubbles crushing
Our throats, rubbles
That once held our
Roofs.
We dance,
But our feet bleed
From glasses cutting
Our soles, glasses
Through which we
Saw baba and mama make
Mounds.
We play
But our baba yells
Our mama cries
Not to play
On top of the
Mounds
Not to play
To let my brothers and sisters
Sleep
Peacefully.
